Terms of use

Last updated: 18 July 2026

These terms cover the FlowBar macOS app, the optional Firefox add-on, and this website. By downloading or using the software, you agree to them.

What FlowBar is

FlowBar is a free macOS menu bar app that plays audio from YouTube URLs. It is provided as a convenience tool—not as an official YouTube, Google, or Apple product.

Not affiliated

FlowBar is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, or Apple. “YouTube” is a trademark of Google LLC. “macOS” and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. All other trademarks belong to their owners.

Your responsibilities

  • You are responsible for how you use the app and for complying with YouTube’s terms, applicable law, and the rights of content owners.
  • Do not use FlowBar to infringe copyright, circumvent access controls where prohibited, or violate platform terms in your jurisdiction.
  • You use streams and links at your own risk; we do not host or control third-party content.

License to use the software

Subject to these terms, you may install and use FlowBar on Macs you own or control for personal, non-commercial use, free of charge. Redistribution of modified builds or misrepresentation of the project as official YouTube/Google software is not allowed unless a separate open-source license on the project repository says otherwise.

Disclaimer of warranties

The software and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied—including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that the app will keep working if YouTube or macOS change.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author(s) of FlowBar are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the software or website. Total liability for any claim related to the software shall not exceed the amount you paid for it (which is zero if it remains free).

Privacy

How the app handles data is described in the privacy policy.

Changes and termination

These terms may be updated; the date at the top will change when they are. We may stop distributing the app at any time. You may stop using it at any time by uninstalling it.
